Investigating the Root Causes of Patient Delay in the Healthcare Industry

Abstract

This paper describes the use of the Socio-Economic Approach to Management to improve the effectiveness of a hospital in Lebanon. The leadership team and IT department were involved. The details of the process are described. The outcomes included improved communication and morale, reduced hidden costs and the amount of time patients spent in the waiting area.
